The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (“Fan Edition”) 5G (Snapdragon) offers many of the features, including the Snapdragon 888 chipset, of the standard S21 5G model, at a slightly more affordable price point. FE users can compose images on a large 6.4” Dynamic AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and power is supplied by a 4,500 mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (Snapdragon) camera does a respectable job, earning itself a DXOMARK Camera score of 120 that puts it into a mid-field position in the Premium segment. The score is one point higher than the S21 5G (Snapdragon), making the FE model a great alternative to the standard model for photocentric users. This said, with the S21 5G having been available at retailers for several months now its street price has come down to a level that is very close to the FE. Overall, the camera performs on a very similar level to the other models in the S21 series from Samsung.
This indoor image offers accurate color rendering without any casts. However, slight color fringing and huw shifts are noticeable.
In this shot and the graph below, we can see that the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE’s texture performance has been improved over the Samsung Galaxy S21 5G. When using the tele zoom, exposure is generally accurate and stable, but dynamic range is limited, which can result in highlight clipping in high contrast scenes. Our testers also observed a loss of detail at most tele and ultra-wide zoom settings, as well as some autofocus failures.

Our testers also observed some color and white balance instabilities but overall white balance and color rendering are generally accurate when recording in bright light or under typical indoor conditions.
In low light, an orange cast is more intrusive than on the comparison phones. Noise is quite visible in all conditions, it’s particularly strong in low light. We also noticed frame shift and ringing artifacts in all conditions.
Video stabilization does a good job in static scenes and is on a similar level as the competitors. In this sample clip, we can see that at the start of the video the subject is slightly underexposed. Strong color and exposure instabilities are noticeable between 00:19 and 00:25 are visible.
We can also see frame shifts and an exposure adaptation issue towards the end of the clip when the model turns around.

Anda bisa menilainya dengan terlebih dahulu membaca ulasan kelebihan dan kekurangan Galaxy S21 FE 5G ini.
Anda pastinya sudah tahu kelebihan apa saja yang wajib dimiliki sebuah smartphone flagship seperti Galaxy S21 FE 5G. Mulai dari penutup belakang polikarbonat, rangka aluminium membulat, dan layar punch-hole yang diproteksi kaca Gorilla Glass Victus.
Itulah alasan mengapa penguji Expert Reviews, Nathan Spendelow, bilang bahwa HP ini jauh dari kesan murahan. Kata Debashis Sarkar dalam News 18, HP ini punya build quality yang kokoh dan terasa kompak.
Wajar Sarkar berkata seperti itu, sebab dimensi HP ini tidak terlalu besar, 155.7 x 74.5 x 7.9, dengan bobot yang ringan di 177 g. Senada dengan Sarkar soal build quality, Nicholas Sutrich dalam Android Central menilai bahwa kesan yang solid bisa dirasakan di seluruh bagian bodi S21 FE.
Ia juga masih aman kendati tak sengaja terjebur di kolam selama 30 menit, pada kedalaman hingga 1,5 m. Sementara itu, sisi atas rangka terdapat mikrofon kedua dan ada juga speaker sekunder yang merangkap sebagai earpiece.
Sementara itu, seperti HP Samsung pada umumnya, S21 FE dilengkapi fitur Always-on display karena pakai panel keluarga AMOLED. Samsung meluncurkan Galaxy S21 FE dengan dua jenis SoC (System on Chip), yakni Exynos 2100 dan Snapdragon 888.
Sebagai informasi, SoC Exynos juga dipakai pada Galaxy S21 FE yang meluncur di India, Australia, dan negara-negara Asia-Pasifik. Ryne Hager dalam Android Police bilang, buka kunci HP ini memakai fitur pemindai sidik jari sangat cepat dan bisa diandalkan.
Meski begitu, pemindai sidik jari di bawah permukaan layar yang dipakai bukan bertipe ultrasonik, melainkan optik. Selanjutnya, Deepak Rajawat dari Smartprix mengaku bahwa HP ini sama sekali tidak terlihat kepayahan dalam menjalankan tugas sehari-hari. Dalam sejumlah pengujian dengan aplikasi benchmark sintetis, Galaxy S21 mencatat skor-skor yang mencerminkan jati dirinya. Sementara itu, kamera telefoto Galaxy S21 FE mampu melakukan tugasnya dengan baik hingga 3x perbesaran optik. Hanya saja, dia harus menahan napas 3-4 detik guna menghindari guncangan dan hasil fotonya bisa bagus. Baterai 4500 mAh memang tidak luar biasa, tetapi para penguji sangat mudah mencapai pemakaian sehari penuh dengan HP ini.
Bahkan menurut Anuj Bhatia dari The Indian Express, HP ini bisa menyala seharian penuh kendati setelan refresh rate 120 Hz terus-terusan dipakai. Dalam pengujian yang dilakukan oleh Jagat Review, Galaxy S21 dapat bertahan 15-16 jam pada skenario pemutaran video lokal (1080p).
Sementara itu, saat digunakan untuk main gim Genshin Impact (Highest 60 fps) selama 30 menit, baterai berkurang 14%. Galaxy S21 FE 5G menjadi ponsel pertama dari Samsung yang langsung mendapat sistem operasi Android 12 tanpa harus update terlebih dahulu.
Android 12 menjanjikan sesuatu yang lebih aman, personal, dan membuat seluruh bagian dalam tampilan bisa Anda racik sesuai preferensi. OneUI 4 pun mendukung kustomisasi, mulai dari tampilan beranda, ikon, hingga wallpaper, semuanya disediakan oleh Samsung.
Hanya, menurut pengujian Philip Michaels dari Tom’s Guide, refresh rate 120 Hz yang ada di HP ini bukan adaptif. Terlebih jika dibandingkan dengan produsen-produsen lain yang bisa memberi dukungan pengisian di atas 25W untuk HP flagship-nya.
Oleh sebab itu, Sutrich pun menyarankan pengguna untuk mematikan saja fitur getar saat mengetik menggunakan HP ini. Di segmen ponsel “flagship murah”, beberapa produsen berani memberi label harga yang lebih miring ketimbang S21 FE. Ia mengalami throttling alias penurunan performa seiring peningkatan temperatur pada saat diberi beban kerja tertinggi.
Dalam pengetesan CPU throttling yang dilakukan Prateek Pandey, performa HP ini bisa anjlok sampai 66 persen dari kemampuan puncaknya. Penurunan juga terjadi ketika Rajawat menguji HP ini dengan aplikasi 3D Mark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test. Penurunan performa ini sepertinya merupakan protokol pembatasan yang dirancang Samsung agar ponsel tidak mengalami overheat.
Namun, berdasarkan pengalaman Deepak Rajawat, hal itu tidak terjadi karena optimasi yang dilakukan Samsung cukup baik. Samsung tampaknya tahu bahwa ada banyak orang yang ingin merasakan pengalaman menggunakan HP flagship racikannya. Karena itulah mereka menciptakan ponsel edisi penggemar (FE) agar sensasi HP flagship bisa dirasakan oleh lebih banyak kalangan.
Dengan harga yang lebih murah ketimbang ponsel-ponsel premium Samsung lainnya, HP ini mampu menghadirkan pengalaman flagship. Kualitas motor haptic yang kurang sip dan ketiadaan refresh rate adaptif jadi alasan kenapa HP ini lebih murah ketimbang S21 reguler. Di sisi lain, jika fokus Anda adalah performa kelas flagship – tanpa memperhatikan fitur dan sentuhan ekstra – Galaxy S21 FE tentu bukan pilihan yang salah. Lebih-lebih karena HP ini tergolong future proof dengan dukungan konektivitas 5G dan pembaruan software hingga empat tahun.
