Dive into anything
In no way am I a heavy user or mobile gamer; I have my occasional games like Candy Crush & CoC, but that’s about it. Additionally, this phone is waterproof and has wireless charging, which is not typical in this price range, so that’s a plus.
This phone has just awful thermal management and battery life efficiency for me, and a lot more when you Google it, haha. The last phone I had that performed that bad was the iPhone 6s, didn’t get hot though, but the battery was worse.
I love my Galaxy Tab, but the A50 a few years ago and now the S21 FE really disappointed me. And yes, I know not everyone has those problems, but I guess there are way more people out there with similar experiences to me, and it just doesn’t get voiced.
Maybe the device is faulty in some point, maybe it’s from a bad batch (Not Star Wars, though). To all of you without problems, I hope your phone and experience last long and stay that good.
Is Samsung S21 Waterproof?
With an IP68 rating, you are basically covered for immersion in water that is around 1.5 meters deep, and for about 30 minutes, at least that’s what Samsung has claimed about the new S21 series. A bigger depth or longer exposure can cause the phone to break, therefore, as always, it’s best NOT to get it wet, although that will probably be fine. Again, you don’t want to mess around with water and your phone, it’s still a piece of electronic technology after all. For example, in one test, the iPhone XR, which is rated as waterproof, got a little wet and the FACE ID camera got all fogged up, which basically ruined the whole phone!
They are the initials for Ingress Protection and are usually followed by a number, which refers to its ability to resist water and dust. For example, as mentioned earlier, Samsung says that the Galaxy S21 “can be submerged in 1,5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.”
While we call these phones “waterproof, It’s worth noting if they will stay that way for a limited time at best. In other words, we don’t recommend that you deliberately submerge any of them, or keep them in a pocket while doing water sports, especially for a long time.
And that should not come as a surprise as the S21 series is currently arguably the cream of the crop on the smartphone market, and many manufacturers will look to earn some money on the hot stuff. One item for Galaxy S21 has caught our eye recently, and we will recommend it to everyone who owns the phone. The case is empowered with the newest technology, and will therefore add extra storage space (from 16 to 128 GB, depending on your taste) and more battery life (serving as a power bank) when wrapped around the phone. All in all, the newest Samsung smartphone series didn’t disappoint in terms of water (and dust) resistance, and anyone who buys any of the three phones will feel a bit safer, no matter how clumsy they are.

Is Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G Waterproof Smartphone?
In this, the first digit after IP denotes the level of protection against solid particles such as dust. So in the case of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G, we have a manufacturer rating of IP68, making it fully waterproof. While we do have an IP rating officially from Samsung, it doesn’t mean you can start using your phone underwater straight away.
Generally, an IP 68 rating means that the phone is completely dust-tight.
This rating means that the phone can withstand an immersion of water greater than 1 meter for more than 30 minutes. So you can expect your Samsung to work without any problems even if you drop your phone into a 3 meters swimming pool. Even some people wash them in a bucket full of water to demonstrate the waterproof capability of the phone. This means that Samsung did not cut down on this feature to save some bucks on Fan Edition phones.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE buyer’s guide: Everything you need to know
That theory was proven wrong, though, when the company launched the phone during CES 2022. As usual, this “Fan Edition” model looks and functions much like its namesake, the Samsung Galaxy S21.
In this buyer’s guide, we’re going to give you all the information you need on the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE! Please note: The Galaxy S21 FE is no longer the latest “Fan Edition” phone from Samsung.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S21 FE on January 3, 2022, at the annual CES convention in Las Vegas. That includes a slightly weaker camera system, lower-grade build materials, and less RAM for the base model.
These trade-offs resulted in a slightly lower Galaxy S21 FE price, which started at $699. That means it offers a bit less overall in terms of specs and features, but it also costs less.
For under $600, you get one of the best mobile chipsets of 2021, a decent camera system, Android 12 out-of-the-box, and more. You can read our detailed thoughts on the device in our Samsung Galaxy S21 FE review. When you take into account that, even today, it’s only $100 more expensive than the Galaxy S21 FE, you have a tricky situation. For specific types of buyers, the Galaxy S21 FE might be a good choice.
In our review, we thought the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE was a fine phone, giving it a score of 3.5/5 stars. However, we lamented that the phone landed at the wrong time, making it difficult to recommend.
We appreciated the phone’s build quality, display, battery life, and performance.
Like us, she loved the display and performance but thought the phone should cost less, considering how late in the cycle we were.

Interestingly, Tom didn’t think the battery life was up to snuff, which is the opposite of how we felt about it. Once again, he loved the display, performance, and build quality, but didn’t much care for the price.
Interestingly, Tom didn’t think the battery life was up to snuff, which is the opposite of how we felt about it. He lauded the performance and display, dinged the phone for a middling camera, and also experienced disappointing battery life.
The chart makes it clear that a huge chunk of our readers would be happy to give up wireless charging if it meant a lower-cost device. Once again, they won’t need to make this sacrifice since the Galaxy S21 FE has access to both Sub-6 and mmWave 5G networks.
Note that even though the selfie camera is a 32MP shooter as compared to the Galaxy S21’s 10MP sensor, this won’t necessarily result in better photos and video. Security: The Galaxy S21 FE has an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. This isn’t the same as the ultrasonic sensor in the Galaxy S21 and could result in slightly slower and less accurate performance.

It wasn’t even close to the best smartphone camera of 2022, but it will produce some good shots under ideal conditions. You’ll find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset inside the Galaxy S21 FE in the United States and a few other countries.
It should be perfect for multi-taskers and even a good option for folks who toy with console emulation on their phones.
Meanwhile, in many other areas of the world, the Galaxy S21 FE comes with the Exynos 2100, the same found in the global variants of the S21 series. This chipset is nice and powerful but doesn’t meet the same performance peaks as the Snapdragon 888. A note of caution we’ll make about performance, regardless of which chipset you get, is that the entry-level Galaxy S21 FE comes with 6GB of RAM.
Eric Zeman / Android Authority Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Samsung has become the best company out there when it comes to updating its large portfolio of Android phones.
Interestingly, this schedule gives the S21 FE a slight leg up over the rest of the Galaxy S21 family.
This makes the Galaxy S21 FE the better buy if software longevity is a primary concern. Since it has the same price as the Galaxy S21 FE while offering a longer update commitment, better specs, a better camera, and more, it is an easy choice over the 2022 model. The Galaxy S23 will have better specs nearly across the board, with battery capacity being the only notable deficiency. Of course, you’ll pay a lot more for this phone, but the upgrades will certainly be worth the premium if you can afford them. If you do decide to move forward with the Galaxy S21 FE, the phone comes in four colors: white, Graphite, Olive, and Lavender.
In India, the phone will be available in the two 8GB RAM variants with the Exynos 2100 from major retailers starting at Rs. That means it offers a bit less overall in terms of specs and features, but it also costs less.
If you want a microSD card slot, you can always grab 2020’s Galaxy S20 FE instead, although that is also missing a headphone jack.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Review – Pros and cons, Verdict
The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G struck a chord with fans and critics alike and the device was among the brand’s most well-liked phones in 2021. More importantly, the device was backed by a top-end Qualcomm chip that lend the S20 FE 5G (review) oodles of raw horsepower.
However, this time around, the company has launched the phone with the Exynos 2100 SoC in India, which is decidedly slower than its Qualcomm counterpart. Thankfully, the device does ship with a dual speaker setup which gets reasonably loud for watching movies and videos on the fly.
The device also ships with a USB Type-C port for charging at the bottom, which is sandwiched between a speaker grille and a dual-SIM tray. That said, the phone also comes with speedy facial recognition tech, which when paired with the handset’s “lift to wake” functionality, got me into my home screen in the blink of an eye.
I’d also like to add that the display offers a snappy 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring animations and UI transitions appear buttery smooth on the phone’s screen. Moreover, the screen also offers a touch sampling rate of 240Hz, so the display should pick up on all your swipes and gestures without breaking a sweat. Coupled with its tiny punch-hole notch, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G’s display will undoubtedly be lauded by movie-buffs and hardcore gamers alike. Thankfully, the device offers a layer of Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus on top of the panel, which should keep scratches and scuffs at bay. Consequently, at a closer crop, you’ll notice that the leaves of a tree, for instance, start to lose their definition and the frame appears a tad muddy. Furthermore, with the night mode enabled, the S21 FE 5G tightens the frame ever so slightly, so you might want to take a couple of steps back to capture the complete scene.
On the bright side, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G ships with a capable selfie camera that can snap quality self-portraits come night or day. If you look at the slider attached above, then you’ll notice that both the phones click near-identical images, with the S21 FE 5G edging out slightly in terms of the overall sharpness.
In fact, the S20 FE 5G’s composition appears a tad sharper, although the device does introduce a bit more grain in the frame.
Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S21 FE 5G is a really fast phone, though the handset’s pricing pits it against devices backed by snappier Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 / 888 processors. On the contrary, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G can play the game at HDR graphics with the Extreme frame rate preset enabled, and the device also supports the in-game UHD texture pack. The custom skin offers a treasure trove of customisation features and comes with a dedicated theme store that allows buyers to change the wallpaper, Always-on Display clock face, and more.
Regardless, the interface more than makes up for it by offering slick animations, a truckload of utilities like a built-in screen and call recorder, customisable edge panels, and more. For its discounted price, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G gets some things right and the smartphone offers a stylish design that has been paired with a stunning display.
Furthermore, seeing how the phone’s cameras haven’t seen any drastic upgrades over its predecessor, I’d reckon you should save some bucks and cop the company’s Galaxy S20 FE 5G instead. Else, prospective buyers can also get the Samsung Galaxy S21, which currently retails for the same price as the S21 FE 5G and offers a better telephoto camera, among other things.
