Samsung Galaxy S23
The Samsung Galaxy S23 is a series of high-end Android-based smartphones designed, developed, manufactured, and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of its flagship Galaxy S series. The Galaxy S23+ features similar hardware in a larger 6.6-inch (168 mm) form factor, storage options starting at 256 GB, faster charging rate and larger battery capacity. At the top of the lineup, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a curved 6.8-inch (173 mm) display with a variable refresh rate starting at 1 Hz, 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, storage options from 256 GB to 1 TB, and the largest battery capacity in the lineup.

Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra support 5G SA/NSA/Sub6, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. The phones also have the ability to charge other Qi-compatible devices from the S23’s own battery power, which is branded as “Wireless PowerShare,” at up to 4.5W. How many software updates will the Galaxy S23 get?
Whichever phone in the Galaxy S23 line up you go for, you’ll be treated to the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 software. If you choose to hold on to your handset for that long or you decide to pick one up at a discount in the coming months and years, then you can be reassured that it will also be protected.
Apple doesn’t tend to make firm statements on how many updates each iteration of iPhone will receive, but it has regularly led the way in this regard.
Samsung’s commitment should reassure buyers who may be deciding whether to splash out on the Galaxy S23 now or wait for the iPhone 15 to arrive.
The software updates on the Samsung Galaxy S23 may be plentiful, but we now understand that they won’t be quite as convenient as we might have hoped. Samsung is already rolling out a camera-focused update as of June 2023, with multiple improvements and tweaks included.
Last February, Samsung announced that many Galaxy devices would be eligible for four years of Android updates, including some of the more budget phones.

Samsung Galaxy S23 series August update lands in the US with new camera features
